Everything is Great

I have been a very bad blogger over the summer. To get you caught up everything is going great. Ashtyn just got potty trained and is doing an awesome job with that. She is such a big girl now. Caden is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. He also just got his top two teeth. They are both soooo sweet!!!

I just started school again, and Curt just started another aggie soccer season. Here are some photos from over the summer.

Caden sleeps & Ashtyn movies

Caden is such a good baby. He is so chill and laid back. People keep telling me that you learn from your first, and I have learned. He can fall asleep on his own, which in my opinion is huge. I just put him in his crib swaddled and awake, and he falls asleep. Knock on wood that this doesn't change. He can take a bottle, and it doesn't matter to him if it is breastmilk or formula. He starts daycare over Spring Break, so that he and I can get in a routine before I have to go back to work. I am going to miss staying at home with him.

Ashtyn has a new favorite thing to do..... watch herself on tv. For Christmas I got a flip cam, and have been filming the kiddos all the time. My new hobby is to make DVD's of the kids. With that being said, Ashtyn wakes up and says, "Mommy, I wanna watch Ashtyn." Bye, bye Mickey and Barney, and hello Ashtyn movies. Maybe she'll be a movie star someday. Here are some recent pictures of them.
Laying on the floor with Caden. She adores her baby brother.

Ashtyn always wants to hold Caden, bounce Caden, and kiss on him. They are so cute together.

Growing Boy & Ashtyn's Counting

Caden is a little over a month old. He is an awesome baby. He rarely cries, and if he does he stops as soon as you pick him up or fix whatever the problem is with him. He does grunt and snort a lot though. I call him my lil piglet, because of all the funny sounds he makes. He has already outgrown his newborn clothes, and is tipping the scales at a little over 10lbs. Here are some pictures of him.
This is his first bath in the tub. We learned very fast to cover his wee wee up when changing diapers and giving baths.

Ashtyn is doing great, and is talking in complete sentences. She has almost mastered counting. The other day we were reading a book together, and I asked her to count the bubbles on the page, this is what I got,"1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen,teen, and she kept saying it over and over again. I told her that was cheating of course, and since that day she now has added the number 3. She loves to hold Caden, and she kisses him all the time. She has drank one of his bottles, and gets a hold of his paci and puts it in her mouth all of the time. Crazy girl.

Ashtyn's Birthday/ Caden Everett Magnuson

Ashtyn's birthday!!! My baby is now 2 years old. She got some cool Nike shoes, a dump truck, golf clubs, a dress, and some cool bath time art set. She played and tried on everything she got as soon as she opened it; it was very cute.
Caden arrived on Dec. 15th, 2009, at 10:36am. He weighed in at 7lbs, and 20 inches long. He is so sweet and handsome. Ashtyn is enjoying all of her big sister gifts, and is in love with her baby brother.

Halloween / Thanksgiving

Yes I am going to finally post the Halloween pics. I've been slacking, but I have some really good excuses like: work, getting ready for the baby, x-mas shopping, and taking care of Ashtyn, to name a few. Ashtyn was a Bee for Halloween, but she didn't want to wear the costume, she would say "No Bee, No Bee Mommy!!"

My parents moved to town, and so did her cousin Wesley who is 6 months older than Ashtyn and they have been having so much fun hanging out together. We got to enjoy two Thanksgivings this year. First we went to Curt's parents house for lunch Thanksgiving, and then we went to my parents house for dinner Thanksgiving.

Playing the piano with Daddy, she loves doing this with daddy at Grandma's house.
Ashtyn and her cousin Wesley going for a spin in Papa's chair. I loved her crossed feet in this picture.

Baby Caden comes on Dec. 21st, if not sooner, but hopefully not later. I am now considered full term, yippy!! We are so excited and looking forward to seeing what he looks like.

Update

As everyone knows I haven't updated our blog in awhile. Today marks my 26th week of being preggo, only a couple more weeks till 3rd trimester. Whoop!!! I have been very busy with school stuff lately, and it is about to get even busier with tennis starting next week.

Ashtyn is talking up a storm. She's learning to count, she counts like this 1,2,3,4,6,9... she skips numbers and we find it sooooo funny. I'm trying to fix it though and get her to say all of the numbers. She also knows all of her farm animals, truck, tractor, windmill, and I can't think of all the other words she says. Another funny thing she does is when we put on socks and shoes after we do one foot she says more, instead of other, which we are working with her on. She has started to sing but she only sings like 2 or 3 words the whole time while I sing the correct words, but it is sooo cute to watch her try. Here are some updated pics of her. Here she is just chillin in the rocking chair watching some soccer.

Styling with her shades on, she wears them on top of her head like daddy and mommy.
I took some pics of her in her new outfit from Mimi and Papa. She loves to wear hats, and she was so excited to have it on.
Curt has been traveling a lot with Aggie Soccer, but he is doing okay. We are happy to have him home this next weekend, and I think the following weekend too. Yippy!! Ashtyn is getting too good at saying daddy is at work, or daddy bye, bye. Hope everyone has a great week, and I will try and be better about updating this.

Cameron Park Zoo

Woo-hoo!!! We took a trip to the Cameron Park Zoo, and had so much fun. Ashtyn was great on the ride there and back which is always a plus. It is a great starter zoo, as it took us only an hour to go through the first time, and then we went back to visit the elephants, tigers, lions, and giraffes for a second time.
At the end she got to pick something out at the gift shop. What kid picks a merecat? Well my kid loves her merecat, and I made her get a normal animal like an elephant. Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

Update

This past weekend we went to a going away party for Cricket who is moving to Dallas this summer. This is my favorite picture of the three of us with our babies.

Today I had another doctor's appointment for this pregnancy. It was a little scary, because the doctor couldn't find a heart beat. So this means that I get another ultrasound, it was so nice to get to see the baby moving around on the screen. Everything checked out good, yippy!!!

Ashtyn just started her new daycare this week. The daycare always sends the parents pictures of their child on the first day of school. So here are Ashtyn's pics from daycare, she is at story time.Yes she is holding her monkey. She loves monkey, it is her baby!!! Today her teacher said that after nap that she didn't want her monkey anymore, so this means that she is feeling more comfortable with her environment.

Baby #2 Update

We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday and everything looked good. We got to see our lil peanut and see the heartbeat which was cool. Looks like it is just one peanut not twins. Curt was a lil disappointed about it not being twins, which I thought was funny. The estimated due date by what the doctor said is Dec. 21, 2009. I love early Christmas gifts. We find out the sex of the baby July 22. Fun times!!!
I have started telling Ashtyn that she is going to have a little baby brother or sister. I don't think she understands. I also tell her their is a baby growing in mommy's stomach, and she comes over and lifts up my shirt and points to my belly. She is adorable, and is going to make a wonderful Big Sister.

Ashtyn's Secret

Ashtyn got a new t-shirt earlier this week. She wore it today when Grandma and Grandpa Magnuson came over.
We are all very excited. The first doctors appointment is Friday.

Walking in mommy's shoes!!

We played outside yesterday, and we made her a sensory table like the one they get to play with at day care. We put oatmeal in ours, and she had so much fun, pouring it, and putting her hands in it.

Sometimes she likes to wear mommy's shoes around the house. It is so cute, and she gets upset when they come off. She will bring me my shoes and want me to put them on her. It is so funny. I think yesterday she just wanted some adidas shoes to match her adidas outfit, so that she can match just like mommy.
She has great balance in them, and can walk for about 10 steps until she falls. Not bad for a 17 month old.

Outside Fun

After the rain on Saturday, I took Ashtyn outside to play in the puddles. She had so much fun splashing around in the puddles, and watching the water's current run towards the gutter. She even sat in one of the puddles. We made the best out of a rainy day. I wish I had my camera out that day, but these are some pictures from Sunday. We took Ashtyn to the Aggie soccer field and let her run around and kick the soccer ball around. She loves playing outside, and she is becoming an awesome lil dribbler of the ball. I was a very proud mommy, to watch her dribble around the soccer field.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was so much fun. Ashtyn had a blast with her Aunt Kristy and Uncle Ivan, who came into town for the weekend. We didn't think Ashtyn would know what to do with the Easter eggs but at the church she just followed the lead of the other kids and ended up picking up around 30 eggs, her daddy went behind her taking them out of the bag and hiding them for the other kids. Then she got to hunt more eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She had a blast, and after her 3 hour nap we took her to Central Park to feed the ducks, and play on the playground. It was a great day, and a great weekend.

Sorry this took me so long to post, its been a very busy week.

Fun Times at the Park

Today we took Ashtyn to Central Park to try out a new park for her. We have been going to Thomas Park close to our house because it is one of the parks in town that has the baby swings. She loves to swing. After swinging for awhile she wanted to try out the slide like all the big kids, so she starts to climb up the big slide stairs. I was so scared so I followed right behind her, and we went up and then slid down, and as soon as we got down she ran to the stairs again and started climbing up. It was fun the first 5 times, but then mommy got tired and sweaty.

Also today Ashtyn got to meet Bailey (Cricket's 2 month old baby girl) and Dakota. Dakota is the first real dog that she has been around and she did better then I thought she would. She would just point to Bailey and was curious, and really didn't know what to do with her. Hopefully one day when Bailey is older they will get to play together.
